I was training a client awhile back;
I’ll call her
Hillary to protect the innocent.
Hillary was telling me how she
is tired of having flabby arms.
You know, you’ve seen people with
loose skin around the triceps.
Some people call it ‘
goodbye arm syndrome’.
That’s when someone waves goodbye
and if they happen to be wearing
a short sleeve or tank top shirt
the bottom part of the upper arm wags
back and forth. . .
saying good-bye too.
Well, Hillary was really motivated to work out.
She followed the workout program I made for her exactly
and she made tremendous
documented fitness improvements.
Her arms were noticeably more tone
and she was all set for a fat loss phase.
Then what did she do?
Well, if you have a
recipe to make a
chocolate cake
and skip a crucial step, like, say,
BAKING the concoction you just mixed up,
how good will that cake taste?
It will probably taste like a
chocolaty sweet paste and will not look
anything at all like a cake.
Or, what if you took that cake mixture and
instead of using eggs you used eggshells.
How would the cake turn out then? Not good.
Probably the opposite of good.
Well, Hillary worked out really hard.
She gained an enormous amount of
strength. But she didn’t follow the nutrition plan.
She skipped one of the steps in the process.
She only completed
75% of the program.
She totally neglected the vital part.
She did not follow the
nutrition program and ended up
making a chocolaty mess all over the place.
She did not lose the fat.
My guess is that she is still
complaining about how she lacks upper body
strength and wants to get rid of her ‘good bye arms’.
(Oh well, can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help her self)
Now, contrast Hillary with another person I train.
I’ll call her
Condoleezza.
Well, Condoleezza also had a goal to
get rid of her ‘good bye arms’.
She followed a program
very similar to the one I gave to Hillary.
They were both in good shape to begin with
but just wanted to firm up
all over and in particular focus on the upper arms.
Condoleezza, unlike Hillary,
followed the program to a ‘T’
and went thru a complete fat loss phase
without cheating.
I laid out the nutrition program for her
and unlike Hillary, ALWAYS
had questions for me about
what she should be eating
(always a good sign)
The results were spectacular.
After Condoleezza achieved her
phenomenal fitness firmness
She was at an event and everyone,
people who had not seen her
in a long time, they all were
just in awe of how great she looked.
The comments . . .
‘Wow!'
'You look great!'
'How’d you do it?’
Condoleezza ended up having to
buy a new wardrobe
because her other clothes
didn’t fit correctly anymore.
So, I know you're trying to
make a cake of some sort -
aren’t you?
Are you skipping some steps
or following the recipe exactly.
